Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

You are an excellent communicator with enviable interpersonal skills. You leverage your high attention to detail and problem-solving ability to comb through data and distill it down to digestible information. In the complex world of ultra-high net worth individual’s finances, you lean on your emotional intelligence, discretion, and ability to manage confidential matters to translate complex financial issues and concepts.

As the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis you will oversee and guide our CEO’s personal and family financial needs. This will include managing cashflow and spending, budgeting, tax strategy, planning and preparation, investment and benevolence, and providing reporting, analysis and financial advice. The role will be accountable for:

  • Liaising with a broad network of external professional advisors and experts in wealth management, banking, tax, estate planning and legal professionals.
  • Creating financial reports and in-depth analysis, including annual spend, personal and family tax planning, RESP, RRSP, TFSA, FHSA, credit card spending, donation strategies, and monitoring cash flow.
  • Analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports, statements, projections, and generating complex financial models.
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate financial control safeguards.
  • Establishing a 12–24-month outlook to strategically plan quarterly and annual objectives.
  • Performing due diligence on potential new venture capital investments as well as working with existing venture capital advisors (legal and financial) to monitor existing positions.
  • Assisting in managing personal investments, financial obligations, and philanthropic initiatives
  • Designing and integrating plans to mitigate risk and enhance reputation.
  • Optimizing banking relationships and initiating appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.
  • Additional responsibilities that align to our CEO’s financial needs.

To succeed in this role, you’ve completed your undergraduate degree in finance or accounting and have ideally completed your masters. In a perfect world, you are a chartered professional accountant (CPA) with significant experience working in industry as a finance or accounting professional as well as several years’ experience working in the consulting milieu.
