MARKET ATTENDANT

The Market is a charming gourmet eatery and retail shop located in the lobby of The Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville, MD. Open daily for breakfast and lunch. Offering unique gifts perfect for every occasion – simple and grand!

We are hiring Market Attendants (no experience necessary – simply hardworking and customer focused individuals). Our Market Attendants assist customers with their food orders (both taking orders and delivering food); as well as assisting customers with their shopping experience in our gift boutique.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional guest service through professional presence, courteous engagement, and timely, solution-oriented support that consistently exceeds expectations.
• Execute accurate cash handling and point-of-sale transactions, including multiple payment methods, in full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu offerings, retail merchandise, amenities, and services to effectively promote sales and guide guest decisions.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service by verifying identification, monitoring guest behavior, adhering to TIPS guidelines, and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Support operational excellence by maintaining cleanliness, food safety standards, side work completion, table service, and overall market readiness throughout each shift.
• Assist with merchandising, promotional displays, inventory presentation, and overall retail organization to optimize visual appeal and revenue performance.
• Contribute to team effectiveness by supporting onboarding and training of new associates, collaborating with culinary partners, and sharing process improvement ideas.
• Uphold a safe, organized, and compliant work environment while effectively prioritizing tasks and maintaining composure during high-volume periods.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.50 an hour + Tips
