The Training Specialist promotes the SmartLinx suite of solutions through designing and delivering effective training of new and current clients to enable and maximize their interaction with the product(s). Training is performed both on-site at client facilities and through web-based sessions. They may be provided for individual users or groups of various sizes. The Training Specialist must be confident and competent in a diverse array of training situations. They must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications as well as possess advanced computer skills. 

Working outside normal business hours, on weekends and holidays is required as needed to meet the needs of our clients. Extensive travel (50-75%) is also required to meet the basic job requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop an extensive working knowledge of the SmartLinx Solutions product suite, related technologies, and associated compliance requirements
  • Provide software application training using a variety of delivery methods including web-based and on-site training
  • Collaborate with other internal and external groups on client needs and setup
  • Effectively document applications and features for both internal and external use
  • Assist in developing, preparing and promoting training courses
  • Assess individual and group needs and adjust the course content appropriately
  • Organize and manage time appropriately and provide detailed summary information about all training sessions
  • Participate with Development staff in testing new product releases
  • Promote personal growth and development by staying informed of the new policies, procedures, and product enhancements

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Workforce Education, Information Systems or related major, or comparable education and work experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years teaching/training experience
  • Ability to cultivate positive working relationships with clients and co-workers 
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof-reading skills, and speaking
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information in non-technical terms
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments concurrentlyStrong interpersonal skills, including, but not limited to demonstrating patience, flexibility, consideration, diplomacy, tact, confidence – overall effectiveness in dealing with adult learner
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule and organize work – perform under tight deadlines with on-going changes in priorities
  • Ability to accomplish job requirements with limited supervision, while traveling extensively
  • Microsoft Office – Advanced Skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with other similar software systems and/or workforce management software applications
  • Technical writing and documentation experience
  • Delivery of web-based training experience is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn basic computer troubleshooting in order to train software
