Leasing Agent
Jefferson Tower, located in the heart of Downtown Syracuse, is seeking a motivated and professional Leasing Agent to join our on-site property management team. As the first point of contact for prospective residents, the Leasing Agent plays a key role in showcasing the community, supporting high occupancy, and ensuring a smooth and compliant leasing process. This position combines sales, customer service, and administrative responsibilities and requires frequent walking of the property, unit inspections, and a commitment to providing an excellent resident experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Leasing & Marketing
• Greet, qualify, and tour prospective residents.
• Present available apartments with enthusiasm and thorough knowledge of property features.
• Promote the community through online platforms, signage, referrals, and outreach.
• Manage and update listings across websites such as Apartments.com and Rent.com.
• Follow up on inquiries and leads; maintain accurate traffic and follow-up logs.
• Support and help implement marketing strategies to increase occupancy.
Leasing Administration
• Assist applicants through the full leasing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct background, credit, and rental history checks.
• Prepare, review, and process lease documents and renewals in accordance with Fair Housing laws and company policy.
• Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, including vendor scheduling (e.g., Verizon, Spectrum).
• Regularly walk and inspect units for readiness and quality standards.
Customer Service & Community Engagement
• Respond to resident questions, concerns, and maintenance requests professionally and promptly.
• Foster strong relationships with prospective and current residents to support satisfaction and retention.
• Assist in planning and executing resident events and engagement activities.
Property Management Support
• Submit and manage maintenance work orders; follow up to ensure completion.
• Support the daily operations of the leasing office including scanning, filing, and tracking documentation.
• Assist with administrative tasks including certificates of insurance, resident forms, and communications.
• Maintain accurate records using property management software (AppFolio).
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Property Manager.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 4+ years of leasing, property management, or customer service experience required.
• Strong knowledge of Fair Housing laws and local landlord-tenant regulations required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
• Experience with AppFolio or similar property management software is preferred.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to walk property grounds, inspect units, and climb stairs regularly.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends or evenings based on leasing needs.
Working Hours:
• Standard office hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Fridays during the summer: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
