Yoga Instructor

Heartland Behavioral Healthcare is a 152-bed inpatient care facility for acute mentally ill adults.  The service contractor shall provide Yoga Instruction for our patients which can greatly enhance their healing process.

The yoga Instructor is to conduct yoga classes with the patients at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare. Yoga will be conducted up to 10 hours weekly on the grounds of Heartland Behavioral Healthcare. Yoga Instructor must be able to work with a diverse population with mental health diagnoses and behavioral issues. Through yoga, the instructor will provide patients with benefits such as stress reduction, sense of personal control, improved flexibility and muscle strength, and improved balance. Yoga Instructor will offer 45 min - 1 hour group sessions with a maximum of 10 hours per week.

Qualifications:

Instructor shall be certified through a nationally recognized yoga school. Must possess 2 or more years of Yoga Experience. Experience required working with patients who have a mental illness diagnosis.
Instructor shall not be subject to an “unresolved” finding for recovery under Section 9.24 of Ohio Revised Code.

Willing to work evenings and weekends.

At least 1 year of experience working with people who have a mental illness diagnosis.

2 or more years of yoga experience/practice.

This position is based on contract terms. Rate of pay is negotiable.
