Toy Demonstrator – FAO Schwarz Flagship Store

Join the world-renowned FAO Schwarz team and be a part of history at the largest and most iconic toy store in New York City!  ThreeSixty Brands acquired FAO Schwarz in 2016 and brought the FAO Retail Flagship location back to life at Rockefeller Center in 2018.

FAO Schwarz, founded in 1862, is one of the oldest and most iconic toy brands in the world.  FAO Schwarz has always been synonymous with quality and innovation, offering one-of-a-kind playthings and creating cherished memories for generations of kids.  The fondness associated with FAO Schwarz is wrapped up in the theatre of it all.  It’s more than just toys, it’s the deep nostalgia for toys that come to life as kids of all ages enter the store.  A visit to FAO Schwarz means much more than a trip to a toy store.  With the anticipation and excitement of a special occasion, FAO Schwarz never fails to deliver a feast for the senses – exciting adults and children alike.

A Toy Demonstrator has a dynamic and engaging personality with a passion for entertaining and delivering a theatrical performance in front of consistent crowds, demonstrating a variety of toys, using technology to elevate certain experiences, and selling large quantities of the products that are being demonstrated.  You will assist the management team in creating a diverse and inclusive culture for both store team and customers alike, while always maintaining a whimsical and theatrical demeanor. You will focus on connecting, consulting, and closing the sales with our customers by sticking to fun and theatrical sales script that will vary based off of the products or line of toys you are demonstrating.  You will take a proactive role in always maintaining FAO Schwarz brand standards, including clean workspace, wearing the appropriate dress code, and supporting vendor relationships while always engaging with customers.

This role will involve demonstrating a specific product or line of toys for your entire shift, as well as being a passionate spokesperson for the FAO Schwarz brand.  Toy Demonstrators will perform live interactive toy demonstrations for numerous products in specific areas of the store.   A Toy Demonstrator’s primary responsibility is to ensure our customers have a world-class shopping experience and this is done by engaging and providing customers with a magical and whimsical experience where their needs are met every time.

You will report to the Experiences Manager and will be led by our Experience Leads on all daily operations.  You will work retail hours, which may include day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays, based on department and store/company needs.
