Vendor Managed Inventory Representative
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage our customer’s inventory and minimize ‘out-of-stock’ conditions while meeting customer’s inventory performance expectations.
- Professionally represent Timberline Fastener’s as a product specialist
- Provide support, training, and assist customers with problems as necessary
- Inspect, clean and organize product, bins, and merchandisers in customer’s place of business
- Write or scan replacement orders
- Obtain approval (where necessary) for replenishment orders
- Transmit replenishment orders to Timberline Fasteners
- Identify and communicate sales opportunities, problems and concerns to Ops Manager and Sales Account Manager
- Assist with merchandising installations and inventory
- Assist in customer resets, changes or adjustments to VMI program
- Clean and organize shelves. Wipe shelves with rags, cleaning solutions, remove trash.
- Professionally resolve discrepancies on customer order
- Work with Sales Dept. in handling special requests
- Hand stock fastener orders in bins for select customers
- Drive to customer’s place of business
- Maintain valid driver’s license and an insurable MVR
- Assist territory sales managers with target account identification, competitive threat observation and general communication effecting the growth and strength of the sales territory
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
- Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the company handbook
- Adhere to all customer safety policies
- Continually work to improve processes
- Assist in quarterly audits
- Assist in the upkeep of PAX
- Observe and learn Customers’ trends while watching inventory levels
- Communicate any Stock Out concerns to the Operations Manager, Purchasing Manager and Sales Account Manager
- Manage the consolidation area
- Use ONYX to scan and verify every VMI order
- Prep orders for delivery
- Print T-notes
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience / Skills
- H.S. Diploma
- 3+ years fastener experience (preferred, not mandatory)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an insurable MVR
- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism at all times
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English (Spanish fluency a plus)
- Basic math skills
- Ability to following directions
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn Timberline’s inventory system
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment
