Vendor Managed Inventory Representative 

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage our customer’s inventory and minimize ‘out-of-stock’ conditions while meeting customer’s inventory performance expectations. 

  • Professionally represent Timberline Fastener’s as a product specialist
  • Provide support, training, and assist customers with problems as necessary
  • Inspect, clean and organize product, bins, and merchandisers in customer’s place of business 
  • Write or scan replacement orders
  • Obtain approval (where necessary) for replenishment orders
  • Transmit replenishment orders to Timberline Fasteners
  • Identify and communicate sales opportunities, problems and concerns to Ops Manager and Sales Account Manager
  • Assist with merchandising installations and inventory
  • Assist in customer resets, changes or adjustments to VMI program
  • Clean and organize shelves.  Wipe shelves with rags, cleaning solutions, remove trash.
  • Professionally resolve discrepancies on customer order
  • Work with Sales Dept. in handling special requests
  • Hand stock fastener orders in bins for select customers
  • Drive to customer’s place of business
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and an insurable MVR
  • Assist territory sales managers with target account identification, competitive threat observation and general communication effecting the growth and strength of the sales territory
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
  • Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the company handbook
  • Adhere to all customer safety policies
  • Continually work to improve processes
  • Assist in quarterly audits
  • Assist in the upkeep of PAX
  • Observe and learn Customers’ trends while watching inventory levels
  • Communicate any Stock Out concerns to the Operations Manager, Purchasing Manager and Sales Account Manager
  • Manage the consolidation area
  • Use ONYX to scan and verify every VMI order
  • Prep orders for delivery
  • Print T-notes

QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Experience / Skills

  • H.S. Diploma
  • 3+ years fastener experience (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an insurable MVR
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of professionalism at all times
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English (Spanish fluency a plus)
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to following directions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn Timberline’s inventory system
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Physical Activities
  • Frequently bends, stoops, kneels, reaches, stands 
  • Lifts up to 20# frequently, 20-70# moderately
  • Pushes, pulls, walks
  • Up to 30% out of state travel (WA, OR area)
