LPN 12 hr. shifts
SUMMARY
Ensure the maintenance of high quality and safe resident services in an Assisted Living environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include
the following:

· Maintaining established policies and procedures, standards of practice and Residents Rights, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control and other regulatory requirements.
· Assess and evaluate Residents abilities and needs as necessary.
· Coaching and teaching Residents and family members as needed.
· Assigning, directing and supervising Resident Assistants in quality Resident Services
· Administering medications and treatments to Residents as directed by their physician.
· Taking physicians orders, episodic charting and maintaining accurate Resident medical records.
· Assisting in making level of service determinations.
· Arranging for adequate supplies and properly functioning equipment.
· Responding to emergency situations.
· Meet the psychological needs of Residents by maintaining the Residents dignity, providing privacy and confidentiality and giving gentle and sincere attention to the Residents desires and service needs.
· Assisting with other duties as necessary for the smooth operation of the Community.
· Maintain a qualified, efficient staff.
· Participate in planning and projects/teams as necessary.
· Enhance professional and personal growth and development.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees while on duty. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and
applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning,
assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and
disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school.
Completion of advanced teaching in insertion of gastric tubes, completion of a
certified course in IV and blood drawing, knowledge of skills necessary in the
assisted living setting, and knowledge of Residential Care Facility regulations
desired. Good interpersonal relationship skills and previous experience
working with elders desired. Computer skills are a must.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental
regulations. Ability to write reports, document notes/medical records,
business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients,
customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to
compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw or interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concreate variables in situations where only a limited standardization
exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Licensed by the State of Ohio Board of Nursing. Completion
of required hours of pharmacy and additional pharmacy training qualifying to
pass medications.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
