Job Purpose


This position promotes the District’s public education by assisting with the coordination and execution of presenting wildlife and natural resource programs at District facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Assist staff with education programs and/or summer youth camps

·         Assist in educating public visitors about local wildlife and various environmental issues

·         Assist staff with special events

·         Assist staff with presentation of nature programs

·         Assist with data entry, work processing, navigating the internet and registration processing

Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience Required

 

Additional Information: Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.

 

Hours:   June 1st - August 15; 20-32 hours/week (hours/days vary and will include some weekends and evenings including holidays, and possible overnight camp sessions).

 

Related Experience:  Experience in natural science, teaching, event coordination or planning.

 

Special training or other license, certification etc.:  CPR/1st Aid; must have a valid Driver’s License.

 

Skills In:  Interacting with the public in a courteous and professional manner; communicating effectively, verbally and in writing; and interpreting rules and regulations.

                                                                 Mandated Reporter – Abused and Neglected Child Reporting

                                                                 National Sex Offender Registry Check

                                                                 CPR/1st Aid Training
