The work focus of a CGNA will vary depending on which of these settings has been chosen for a work assignment and the individual needs of the resident. CGNAs provide various levels and types of care to our residents to include assistance with or completion of activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, dining, and help with personal appearance, bathroom assistance, mobility, and restorative care. Working closely with each resident, the CGNA will often obtain information such as vital signs, weight, and height and will be required to not only accurately document this (and other) information; but to also effectively communicate this information to the nurse and other members of the care team.
