Electro-Mechanical Technician

Bai Brands LLC is currently seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team in Bordentown, NJ.

About the role:

The Electrical Mechanical Technician understands all aspects of line and machine operation and offers assistance where necessary including performing project management duties along with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all machines and line equipment. The EMT will fabricate, test, analyze, and adjust precision equipment and instruments according to blueprints and other specifications, using hand tools, metalworking machines, and precision measuring and testing equipment.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance, repair and installation of machinery and equipment, advanced diagnostic troubleshooting, as well as a complete teardown, rebuild, and remanufacture of machinery and related systems
  • Execute daily machine checks, lubrication, machine start-up, clean-up, changeovers and adjustments to maintain the greatest operational efficiency
  • General electrical work including but not limited to; layout, assembly, installation, and testing of electrical apparatus; measuring, cutting, threading and bending conduit; and installing, modifying, and repairing panel boxes, remote control equipment, motors, power and lighting circuits
  • Maintenance and calibration of microprocessor-based control equipment, general instrumentation and electrical control systems to carry out first line diagnostic, troubleshooting and maintenance work
  • Read and understand relay logic and schematic diagrams as well as industrial power distribution and wiring practices
  • Troubleshoot, program, and/or replace Allen Bradley PLC’s (SLC500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix), Allen Bradley Panelview Plus, Allen Bradley Device Net, Allen Bradley Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), and three phase 240V and 480V motors
  • Save, upload, download, file, and maintain all PLC, Panelview (HMI), VFD, and Instrumentation programs
  • Test and calibrate all plant instrumentation (temperature, pressure, level, vacuum, flow) using test equipment and instrumentation
  • Design and manage the installation and start-up of small plant electrical and controls upgrades.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Operate various power tools including but not limited to torque wrenches, calipers, and gauges in a safe and proficient manner
  • Ensure accurate parts assignments and equipment histories are maintained
  • Assist the Supervisor in the operations of the line and in training operators/mechanics on repairs, adjustments, and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain continuous improvement and comply with all safety requirements

Our ideal candidate:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) 
  • 1+ year of experience as an Industrial Mechanic
  • 1+ year of experience in troubleshooting and programming Allen Bradley PLC Systems, VFD’s, and Panelviews, Process Control Instrumentation, and 3 phase (480V) Motor Starter Circuits
