Relief Staff - Early Learning Childcare Educator
We are seeking experienced Early Learning Childcare Educators to support our childcare center's in a temporary relief capacity. You will be working as part of our amazing team, implementing exciting and engaging daily activities that are based on the Flight Curriculum Framework. Location: There are three (3) locations: Westmount location-11130-131 St, Edmonton Northwest - 12823-116 Ave or Inglewood School - 11515 -127 Street
Job Type: Temporary- Relief Position - No Guaranteed Hours
Salary & Benefits: This position pays between $17.50 and $19.00 per hour plus the Alberta Wage Enhancement depending on the Childcare Certification Level (2 or 3).
Hours: Centers are open between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm - Monday to Friday. Shifts vary between 3-8 hours depending on the need. Must be available to work with short notice.
Start date: as soon as possible
Summary:
- The Early Learning Childcare Educator (ELCE) works as part of a team to care for children in a positive, compassionate, and respectful manner.
- Enhance the curriculum and the children's learning in many ways, in both planned and spontaneous play, by implementing activities and following the interest of the children between 12 months and 5 years.
- Program supervision in an environment that meets the children’s mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical needs.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for the children.
- Maintain respectful communication with team members and parents regarding the children and the program.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Alberta Childcare Certification
- Experience working in a daycare with children age 1 to 5 years is required.
- Experience working in an Out-of-School Care setting, working with children age 5 - 12 is required.
- Able to work in a high energy environment with changing priorities
- Clean Police Record Check (obtained within a 6 month period prior to start date)
- Standard First Aid with CPR/AED or Standard Childcare First Aid with CPR/AED is required (obtained within a 6 month period prior to start date)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Organizational skills with ability to work both independently and as a team player.
- Experience with HiMama software an asset
- Knowledge of Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework is an asset.
