Join our team as a Food Service Attendant!

Under the direction of the Culinary Manager, the Food Service Attendant ensures food safety and quality by adhering to policies, assists with serving meals according to guidelines, and uses equipment competently. Responsibilities include timely meal service organization, maintaining cleanliness, serving meals based on resident needs, and participating in special events and committees. The role requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, volunteers, and students,and strictly follows occupational health and safety, including WHMIS.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits:

  • A valid Safe Food Handler's Certificate from local Public Health, or equivalent food handling training program preferred

  • Appropriate Food Service experience, skills and knowledge.

  • An understanding of food service and preparation is essential

  • Valid alcohol servicing certificate an asset

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language

  • Dependable, responsible and an ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently.

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the retirement community.

  • Capable of working in fast-paced environment
